This project is centred on the themes of the voice and text. The notions of manipulating, disguising and revealing both these forms of communicating will be used within the work. With particular interest in the various sounds and grains of a voice, and the possible reasons behind these differences. Theories on where the voice initially exists underline this work. The notion that the voice equates to the self, and the possibility of a manipulation occuring in order to disguise oneself.
The sound, grain and texture of the voice will be heard externally by the audience. The manipulative methods I use will affect the heard voice, but they will be made both internally as well as externally altering the sound after it has left the body. No effects on any music programming or recording equipment will be used, and any recorded sound will be left dry.
